Volunteer Opportunities:

Food Deliveries

FCS delivers groceries to households in Falls Church who request assistance. Delivering food helps to reduce barriers to access. FCS volunteers bag food deliveries at the FCS food pantry at Knox Presbyterian Church and deliver in our Falls Church service area. All clients we deliver to are screened and referred to FCS by social service agencies.

Each week, volunteers notify the office of their availability and are assigned deliveries accordingly.

Please Note: Food delivery volunteers must be 18 or over or accompanied by a trained adult volunteer.

Grocery Shopping

Help is needed to shop for groceries to stock the pantry. FCS includes perishable items in our deliveries, so we must shop regularly for milk, eggs, meat, fruit, and vegetables.

If you can commit to shopping 1-2 times a month, please reach out. Training is provided.

Food Pantry Stocking

Volunteers are needed to stock and shelve items in the pantry. This is a great task for youth groups and/or families. An hour of your time would be much appreciated.

Administrative

Volunteers are needed to serve on the Board of Directors and program committees. Office support volunteers for data entry, fundraising, events, and advocacy are always welcome.
